I have spent a few... Days? If that is what you could call them, in the Mystic Realm. I will do my best to describe one such day..
The star is high in the summer night... Shining brightly, casting shadows upon the lands below. I took a seat on a near by stump, having politely asked said stump if I could.
"Tis nery a problem, a good stump knows it is for sitting, and sit you shall." Replied the stump. I looked out upon the dry lake, as the waters dried the beach shore.
"Tell me stump, if water is dry, then what do you drink?" I question the oddity of the Mystic Realm.
"Ah, from Meruth you must be." The stump mused. "Tis true this water is dry, but yesterday it was wet, and rip for drinking. As any polite stump would do, I dipped my tea cup into the water to sip upon this wet water."
"Is it always polite for a stump to use a tea cup to drink water?" I questioned the stump, feeling ridiculous for doing so.
"Aye, tis the way of the stump!" The stump exclaimed, the only branch on the stump twirled a bit. "Be a rest for all, be polite when drinking, and one day, I may grow to be a tree once more." The stump seemed very happy talking about its own way of life. "Oh, if thy cometh across a stump that does not let you rest. Say unto the stump, 'Ponderous one, thou cast aside the Way of the Stump, no longer will a tree you be!' Then the stump will be punished for such ill behavior. A warning there must be, for if you curse a polite stump, you will trade places with that stump." I felt overwhelmed by the words of this stump, unsure if I should believe the stump's words.
"I will keep that in mind, kind stump." I look down at the wooden stool I sat upon.
"Tis a good time for you to be on your way, the Undine can get mad if one is near when they return from Meruth." The stump kindly warned me.
"Do they look any different here than on Meruth?" I question the nice stump.
"I have never been to Meruth, one of my friends went, but I've not heard from him." The stump laughs a bit. "Tis a story, stumps are said to be lifeless one Meruth!"The Stump laughs, thinking it to be a fable.
"It is true, stumps don't talk in Meruth. They are just there." I say, hoping to clear up the myth.
"Tis a sad day to lose a friend. I thank you kind stranger, but you should be off." The stump twirled the branch, trying to help me be on my way. Before I am able to leave, I feel a boney hand on my face, reaching around from the back. I frozen in fear.
"Mortals shouldn't be in the Mystic Realm, what brings you here?" The voice was that of a raspy old female.
"Milady, this mortal was on his w-"
"Shut up Sir Stumps A'lot!" The raspy voice seemed a bit more energetic and full of life after issuing the command.
"Aye." Sir Stumps A'lot goes silent leaving us to talk.
"I am not sure how I got here to begin with." I gulp, not knowing what this being is, for all I knew, I was a dead man.
"You are in Undine territory, whom do you think I am?" The voice seemed to be straining between raspy and lively.
"Then you are an Undine?" I feel the hand move away from my face. I turn to see a rather thin female, her skin is almost white, unlike the normal healthy blue color the Undine take on. Parts of her bone structure is showing, like she had been eaten by something. I look at her with worry, which she took note and laughed.
"I am an Undine, we return here, to this dry lake to dehydrate." She walks over to the dry water, and walks into the now still waves. Soon the sound of rushing water returns to the lake, the wet water starts to ripple through the lake once more. Sir Stumps A'lot, in some fashion or another, one I could not dare to describe, stands up. The stump walks.... slithers... maybe crawls to the lake and, sure enough, dips a tea cup into the water to drink. I can hear the Undine laugh, as I look so perplexed at what ever I was looking at. I look up to see the normal form an Undine takes, one of youthful beauty, her hair cascades like a running water fall, the clothing, which were just hanging on her body, turned to live and flowed, Sea foam splashed on the hem of her dress, as she steps towards me.
"Do all Undine go through this process?" I question her.
"Yes, we use dry water to dehydrate ourselves from spending too much time in Meruth's wet water. Though it doesn't look like it, I was water logged, and I couldn't speak properly due to that." The soft voice of the Undine filled my ears, her pleasant smile seemed to ease my worry. "Sir Stump's A'lot has always been here, I wonder if he will be a Zarn tree again!" The Undine turns to the stump. "Hey, old fart, will you be a Zarn Tree again?" The poor stump was caught off guard by this rude comment and dropped his tea cup into the wet water.
"Tis a shame!" The stump lamented. "I lost my last tea cup!" The stump was besides himself. Though I couldn't tell if it was angry or just upset and had already accepted his fate. I walked to the water and reach in, which cause Sir Stump's A'lot to gasp in shock.
"It is just water, I don't mind getting you tea cup." I reached into the water, as the Stump warned me of the dangers.
"Tis a woeful thing! Thy arms will be soaked, and thy wood will peel! I cannot express my sadness at your pl-" The Stump gasps, then goes silent as I pulled the Tea cup out, and very easily dry my arm off. "A perplexing being you are! Are you immune to the Sog?" I look over at the Undine, who can't seem to stop laughing at two beings from different realms coming to grips with each other. I hand the tea cup to the stump.
"I am a human, we don't.... get sog? Clothing will get damp, but we just dry them out."
"Tis a heroic feat! Thou hast returned my tea cup!" Without another word, Sir Stump's A'lot turns into a massive tree. Dropping a rather odd fruit down for me. "THOU HAS BEEN GRACIOUS! I BEQUETH TO YOU, THE FIRST OF MY FRUIT!" The, now, tree's voice booms through the land.
"Well, it is about time you became a tree again, Sir Treemore." The Undine walks to the tree and picks one of the odd fruit. "The First of the Zarn's fruit tastes the best." The Undine waits to eat her Zarn fruit, knowing that I tree politeness ... niceties... what ever it is called should be followed. The red stripped green fruit tasted of green apple and strawberry.
"It is very good." Though the taste honestly confused me more than actually tasting good, I just wanted to be polite.
"TIS A GREAT NIGHT....DAY FOR I!" The tree spoke. "I HAVE MADE A GREAT FRIEND AND REGAINED MY TREE STATUS! I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!" Sap started to come from the tree, though I guessed the tree was crying out of joy, the Undine said as much as well.
It don't know if this will unwrite itself again, so I should send this much so that the ink doesn't run away again. It really angers me when it does that. I also hope that the ink didn't decide to rewrite parts of this journal.
Way any, bye good.... DAMN IT! SEE?
